The "Magical Food Day Trip”

Onigiri, Corn, and Sweet Potato are three good friends. Every 15th, on “Food Day,” they set off on a yummy food adventure! They look for friends who care for the Earth and protect nature, just like they do. This time, they discover all kinds of magical tricks that make food taste better – and help keep the Earth healthy too!

“The Magical Food Day Trip” Mini Picture Book

To celebrate “Food Day,” the Good Neighbor Foundation teamed up with the Nantou Branch of the Agency of Rural Development and Soil and Water Conservation, MOA, and Kang Hsuan Educational Publishing Group. Together, they created The Magical Food Day Trip mini picture book. Through the fun adventures of the three food buddies, kids can learn:

Where does food come from?

Why shouldn’t we waste it?

How can we be good friends with the Earth?

Teaching Resources for Teachers and Parents

The Good Neighbor Foundation also worked with 5% Design Action and Kang Hsuan Educational Publishing Group to design lesson plans for elementary schools. By combining the ideas of biodiversity and food saving, they transformed years of experience with the “iLove Food” and “Sustainable Farm” programs into easy-to-use teaching tools. Teachers can use them in class, and parents can join in learning with their kids, too.
